Stop The Tardy Sweeps

March 10, 2010
I think administrators need to stop the tardy sweeps. Some teachers start teaching before the tardy students get in the class. So students could also be missing some notes and teachers explaining how to do the work. They should also stop because teachers nor administrators want students running in the hall knocking other students down as they rush to class. The students should have some time to go to the bathroom especially if it's an emergency.  Don't students have enough pressure?  They already have to worry about doing work and passing the SOL'S. That's why the tardy sweeps should end.

Do you Think Rolfe's Electives are Fun?

March 8, 2010
I think Rolfe's electives are fun and challenging. Some of the the electives are Technology (Mr. Colbert & Mr. Knight), Art (Mrs. Slatner & Mrs. Schrag), Foreign Languages (Mr. Steele & Mrs. Favilla), Creative Writing (Mrs. Landis), Chorus (Ms. Jones), Band (Mrs. Gueralet). The most challenging elective is P.E because there are different teachers teaching different groups of students. Depending on what activity we're playing. the groups are challenging another group.

My electives are P.E. a...

Saturday Detention Should Be Banned From JRMS!!!

March 2, 2010
Dear Mr. Armstong,

At JRMS, Saturday Detention should be banned because it's not right to make a student come to school on a Saturday. Saturdays are students' rest days for them to do whatever they want, not to come to school. Saturday school is like torturing the students. If they are late reporting to Saturday Detention, then that shouldn't be a problem. Now, the administrators won't let you into the detention if you're late. You'll end up with another consequence. At least, students t...

Locking Bathrooms

January 29, 2010
Dear Mr. Armstrong,
This whole escort idea  isn’t a good one, I don’t understand the need of having very busy administrators take 11-14 year old kids who are perfectly able to go to the bathroom on their own through the hallways when they could be doing something else that’s more important. If the problem is that it’ll prevent kids from being disruptive, then you could post teachers to patrol the hallways or just sit at a corner to watch the students while they work.
  Another thing ...

Lunch Seating

January 21, 2010

Dear Mr. Armstrong,

First, the students at John Rolfe really don't like how we have to sit on one side of the table during lunch. We only get to be in middle school once! We shouldn't be punished for something that happened last year. We want to sit on both sides of the table. We can't talk to all our friends if they're all on one side of the table. Also, we would use up less table space so more people could get through lunch. We want to sit on both sides of the table so we can talk to a...

We Need More Pep Ralleys

January 21, 2010

The students at Rolfe should have more pep rallies. The students that are in class everyday working hard and participating should be rewarded by having a pep rally. If students get good grades, then they should be rewarded with a pep rally. Pep Rallies get everybody hyped about  the school because they know the school cares about them. We should celebrate holidays like Valentine’s Day , Christmas, Thanksgiving , Halloween , St. Patrick’s Day, and April Fool’s Day. If you tell the stu...
